Keep them Reading All Summer Long

Let's keep our kids reading this summer. There are some great incentive programs happening in Naperville this summer. I have also come across a few fun and free activities along with rainy day websites.

Reading Incentives-
Naperville Public Library(June 7-August 1)-Make a Splash and Read Summer Programs. Student need a library card to register. Prizes are given out throughout the summer to keep kids reading.

Fannie May(Bolingbrook-Promenade only)- The Bolingbrook store is offering a free scoop of ice cream for each report card reflecting an “A”. Have your students proudly stop by our location with their report card reflecting an “A” and we will serve them a free scoop of ice cream for a job well done. One scoop per report card regardless of the number of A’s earned during the school year! Validation dates: May 29, 2010 to August 31, 2010.

GREEN TIP: The City of Naperville will host its annual one-day Reuse & Recycle Extravaganza from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 5 at Alcatel-Lucent, 1960 Lucent Lane. Items suitable for recycling that might otherwise end up in landfills are electronics, scrap metal, books, bicycle and parts, shoes, non-broken eyeglasses, hearing aids and keys, clothing buttons and rulers, tattered American flags, ink jet cartridges and cell phones.
